The Push Review

Title: The Push
Author: Ashley Audrain
Style: Psychological Thriller
Rating: 3/5
I have spent the last few days trying to decide how I feel about this book. I really enjoyed the writing style. Blythe is writing to her ex husband, a story of their life as a mother to daughter Violet and son Sam. When you are only getting one point of view in the story it makes you question everything, in a good way. Blythe's family does not have the best track record when it comes to motherhood. She often questions if she is a good mother or not. Though out the story you are left to believe that Violet is crazy and a psychopath. While reading your mind goes back and forth, wondering if Violet truly is crazy or if Blythe is manifesting it all. The chapters are super short which makes this a fast read. The story also keeps you guessing. In the end, I was a little underwhelmed. I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it either. I am looking forward to reading future titles by this author. For a debut author this was pretty good. I kept going between 2-3 stars and I settled on 3.
