The Unsinkable Greta James Review

Title: The Unsinkable Greta James
Author: Jennifer E Smith
Style: Contemporary
Rating: 5/5

“Maybe the point isn't always to make things last. Maybe it's just to make them count.”

This is a breathtaking story about grief, love, rediscovering yourself and forgiveness. Greta is a semi-famous musician who falls apart on stage after her mothers sudden death.  She decides to take a cruise with her dad whom she doesn't have the closest relationship with.  The cruise was meant to be for her mother and father for their 40th wedding anniversary.

Words can not describe the beauty that this book is.  These characters were remarkable.  Each one had their own voice and was so well developed I felt like I was sitting among friends.  This story made me feel so many different emotions. I could feel  grief though the pages. At times I just wanted to let out a good cry. Other times I found myself laughing out loud. The growth and healing that went on during this story was one of my favorite things. It also takes place in one of my favorite settings.  Alaska.  I just loved this one so much. Will be a favorite of the year for sure.
