The Last Thing He Told Me Review

Title: The Last Thing He Told Me
Author: Laura Dave
Style: Mystery, Thriller
Rating: 4/5
“This is the terrible thing about a tragedy. It isn't with you every minute. You forget it, and then you remember it again.”
Owen Michaels send a quick message to his new wife Hannah before he disappears. The message is two words "Protect Her" and it references his teen daughter Bailey. Hannah quickly realizes that her new husband might not be who he says he is. Hannah and Bailey set out to find out the truth about Owen even if that means it will change their life forever.
The Last Thing He Told Me is a great fast paced domestic thriller that will keep you guessing the entire time. It alternates between past and present and gives you just enough to (almost) figure out what's going on. I felt like the characters were authentic and relatable. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Hannah and Bailey develop overtime. The story is jam packed with "on the edge of your seat" moments. I felt like a movie was playing in my head while reading and so I wasn't surprised to hear that it will be adapted into one. I highly recommend.
