The Jasmine Project Review

The Jasmine Project Review

Title: The Jasmine Project
Author: Meredith Ireland
Style: Coming of Age, Young Adult
Rating: 5/5

Synopsis in Two Sentences:
Jasmine finds out that her boyfriend, Paul,  of four years has been cheating on her and they decide to take a break for a few months. Jasmine's family creates a bachelorette style game in which they set Jasmine up with three different young men in hopes Jasmine will forget about Paul, rediscover herself and get a new boyfriend.

My Thoughts:
This was such a sweet, cute and light coming of age story with lovable diverse characters.  I loved how the story alternated between text messages with Jasmine's family and the storyline. It was a fun creative way to tie the story storylines together. It also showed the love her entire family, all 50 of them, had for her. The family created a bachelorette style game where they found 3 young men to date Jasmine (she had no idea this was goin going). While I normally don't love stories with family that do not have healthy boundaries, I still really enjoyed The Jasmine Project.  I loved that her family just wanted her to see what an amazing person she was and how she lost herself by dating Paul.  My favorite part about this story was the growth Jasmine had as she found herself.  I found myself wishing I could see what these characters are up to in the next 10 years.
