Such a Quiet Place Review

Such a Quiet Place Review

Title: Such a Quiet Place
Author: Megan Miranda
Style: Thriller
Rating: 3/5

Hollow's Edge used to be the hot spot to have a home.  A quiet and peaceful neighborhood to live. It was a place where the neighbors looked out for each other, had parties and other celebrations.  Until Brandon and Fiona Truett were murdered in their home in the middle of the night.  Now the residents feel trapped, unable to sell their homes due to that history. Many of the residents gave testimony against the suspected killer, Ruby Fletcher who ended up being found guilty of the crime.  When Ruby's conviction is overturned about 18 months later she decides to go back to Hollow's Edge.  Is she there to cause havoc or is she looking for answers?

Unfortunately, this book was not for me.  I struggled to be pulled into the story and thought it had so many characters that I didn't really connect to any of them. I felt like it took until about 65% for me to be invested and that was short lived.  I also had a hard time keeping track of them.  The overall story just felt thrown together. I did like how Megan Miranda included the neighborhood message board into the mix because in this day and age almost every neighborhood has one of those.  They tend to cause more trouble so that part was relatable.  I would say that this author is a hit or miss for me and this story falls in line with her others novels.  So if you are a fan of this author you will probably like it.
