Reconstructing Amelia Review

Reconstructing Amelia Review

Title: Reconstructing Amelia
Author: Kimberly McCreight
Style: Thriller
Rating: 5/5

“Sometimes its hard to tell how fast the current's moving until you're headed over a waterfall”

Kate is a single mother and attorney to Amelia. When she receives a call from Grace Hall, her daughter's private school, Amelia has been suspended and needs to be picked up.  When Kate arrives she finds that Amelia has died from apparent suicide because she was caught cheating on a paper. When Kate receives an anonymous text that Amelia didn't jump she stops at nothing to find out the truth about what really happened to Amelia.

are my fav! It's a story about friendship, first loves, mean girls and exclusive clubs/hazing. It's fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat.  It's also a little sad.  The pieces that are told in Amelia's point of view are haunting because you know she dies in the end.  The reader begins to love her character. You can't help but cheer for Kate, hoping she can get answers that prevent Amelia from dying in the end which is impossible. The story keeps the reader guessing the entire time.  I highly recommend it.
