The Midnight Library Review

Title: The Midnight Library
Author: Matt Haig
Style: Contemporary, Science Fiction
Rating: 5/5
"Between life and death there is a library. And within that library, the shelves go on for ever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be different if you had a made other choices....Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?"
Nora Seed finds herself in the midnight library with the possibility to see her life had she made different choices in her life. She can change her career, her past relationships, she can become an olympian, or a mother. The possibilities are endless with an infinite amount of choices. She has to view these different lives and choose with life she'd want most. Nora must look deep within herself to see what makes her the most full-filled. The most happy.
This well written novel is fast paced and has a good message about regret and life. Have you ever had the thought "I wonder what I'd be doing if..." or "I wonder what my life would be like had I..." While many people say they live with no regrets I still feel like deep down we as humans wonder what our life would be like had we made different choices. This beautiful story is thought provoking and gives the reader a new perspective on life. I also love that it has a little bit of a science fiction woven into the story. I will end were I started and say that the overall lesson in this book is great. Highly recommend.
