What is this book about?
A heartbreaking story about friendship between a wealthy boy and the son of his father’s servant. The story takes place in Afghanistan, a country that is being torn apart. Beautiful story about love, friendship, family and the history of Afghanistan over a thirty year period.
What did I think?
A beautiful story rich in historical culture, story and character development. This book has been on my list for a long time and I am so glad I finally read it. Hosseini writes such beautiful and heartbreaking stories that leave you wanting more, in a good way. I felt like these character were my friends and I found myself wishing I knew what happened to them after the story ended. I love stories that offer me a glimpse into other cultures and countries.
